The University of Wales Trinity Saint David is based in Swansea and was formed in 2010, making it one of the youngest universities in the UK. The main campuses are based in and around Swansea’s city centre as well as the towns of Lampeter and Carmarthen in South West Wales, with a campus also located in London for international students. The University has just under 10,000 students enrolled in total.

Trinity Saint David has a long history in teacher training and has recently introduced Yr Athrofa, the Institute of Education, to operate on the Carmarthen and Swansea campuses. The aim is to produce a new and innovative approach to teacher education, with the university and partner schools jointly responsible for the construction and delivery of all training programmes.

Following the Times Higher Education Student Experience Survey, the University of Wales Trinity Saint David was in the top 20 in the UK for academic experience and the joint best university in Wales for high-quality staff/lectures and good personal relationships with teaching staff.
